In May 1922, in a Mayan temple just off the Mexican coastline, Professor Victor Reed found a sarcophagus. More accurately his guide did.

It was covered with Mayan pictographs, prophesizing the end of the world should the person inside be released. Professor Reed ordered it buried immediately.

It wasn't. Instead, it was shipped to the Museum of Anthropology in Vancouver.

In September, 1933, Detective Tate Laurence ran into the museum, hoping to catch it before it was put away into the back storage area.

Depressed over having missed his chance at getting the sarcophagus, he gets a drink at a local bar. He had also received some bad news from his doctor; he won't be able to have children. On the way out, he sees a Sex Percussions poster and realizes that all is not lost.

He manages to get inside the theater and watch them perform. See Donal build something, Talia appear in a cloak of shadows, and Marc appear out of nowhere, he realizes that this is the team that he is looking for.

The group is enjoying themselves after yet another great performance, and discussing something. When Detective Tate approaches them, they have already discussed the situation and are ready to go.

However, Detective Tate wants to talk with the group first, to make sure that they know that there are some risks involved, and that they know that he's got them.
